This junker might sit in the front or back yard of the owner for years on end – weeds growing into it, animals nesting comfortably, rust eating it away like a virus. You can decide that you don’t care about the money, and find the first person wiulling to bring a tow truck out to haul it away. If the car is beyond fixing, charities might not be interested – but if there could be some major work done to get it back on the road, some charities are going to be willing to invest in it.
