What You Should Never Do on a First Date

First dates are a bit of a hassle. After all, you both are not yet sure about the other person and you might end up just wasting your time on an activity that might get nowhere. However, it can also be very exciting. For you guys, if you’re really into a girl and would like to continue seeing her, don’t botch the first date. Here are some things you should never do.

 

1. Burp or fart. Let’s face it guys, these are two of the most common habits most of us just can’t seem to do without. At a first date, don’t ever do either. It will make her look at you like you are a low-class, good-for-nothing slob. Reserve them for later, when the relationship is already on a more secure ground.

 

2. Letting her pay. I know that 21st century dating is more about equality. However, this is your first date so you must pick up the tab. It would make her think that your generosity probably extends to other aspects of the relationship.

 

3. Talking like a salesman. Don’t spend the whole hour extolling your virtues. It would be better if you try to get to know her better instead of selling yourself like a peddler.

 

4. Feeling her up. She will likely find it gross if you start feeling her up and aiming for a trip to the bedroom at the very first date. Say goodnight with a kiss on the cheek once you’ve walked her to her door. During the date, you can go as far as touching her hand to assist her out of the car or putting your hand on the small of her back to guide her towards the door. More advanced physical contact will have to wait until you get to a second or third date.
